Lady Eagles leady early but come up short

Tuesday, February 24, the Baptist University of Florida Eagles once again traveled to Georgia for a doubleheader against the Golden Rams of Albany State University.

Game 1
Harley Daniels once again started Game 1 and pitched a complete game. The Lady Eagles were up first and struck early. Olivia Spooner walked to lead off the game and then stole second base. Maya Griffin singled to right field, allowing Spooner to score and giving BUF a 1-0 lead. Through two innings, ASU had not scored, but the Golden Rams plated one run in both the third and fourth innings. Spooner singled in the third inning and then led off the fifth with a double. She advanced to third on the next at-bat and scored on a sacrifice fly by Griffin. The Golden Rams responded with three runs in the bottom of the fifth and added one more in the sixth to secure a 6-2 victory. Olivia Spooner finished 2-for-3 with a walk and scored both runs. Maya Griffin went 1-for-2 with two RBIs. Janni Murray, Jamie Jackson, Elizabeth Hancock, and Jacey Nelson also recorded hits in the contest.
