Welcome to Baptist University of Florida (BUF) Athletics! You are about to embark upon a unique path by participating in collegiate sports. At BUF, we take the health care of our student-athletes seriously. In BUF Athletics, we compete to WIN. To win is to relentlessly pursue excellence in everything we do to honor the Lord. Winning involves intentionally leveraging our talents and abilities to point others towards Christ. Winning requires the commitment and ownership of all team members. No role or contribution is too small. We will be committed to one another and accountable to one another. Winning culture is developed as the team members selflessly sacrifice for the good of the team and aim to execute daily tasks at a high level.

Caring for the health and wellness of our student-athletes is an important part of helping athletes fulfill the vision of BUF Athletics, competing for Christ and competing for championships. Below you will find important information regarding our medical care and support for our athletics department, which is focused on the prevention of injuries as well as the timely treatment of athletic injuries including rehabilitation and prevention of future injuries.

Mission Statement

BUF Athletics is a distinctive athletic program that exists to: disciple student-athletes for the advancement of the Kingdom, develop skills and character, and display the University’s spirit of excellence and passion.

BUF Eagles Medical Coverage

BUF Eagle student-athlete's health care is managed by the BUF Team Doctor and assisting Medical Staff of Northwest Florida Community Hospital and Tallahassee Orthopedic Clinic. Our current team doctor is a board-certified family physician with over 30 years of experience. Family Physicians are highly qualified, multi-skilled health care professionals that are educated and trained to prevent, recognize, evaluate, and treat injuries and illnesses. At BUF, our medical team works closely with physicians and physical therapists at Northwest Florida Community Hospital, Graceville Clinic, Tallahassee Orthopedic Clinic, and other local partners to provide quality healthcare services to our student-athletes. For questions regarding our athletic medical services, please reach out to our athletic director or team doctor (email addresses below).

The team doctor or one of her team members will be present at all home events. Our exercise physiologist will be on campus throughout the week, assisting with taping, rehab, and other athlete needs. A NFCH medical provider (physician/PA/NP) will be available to see athletes within 36 hours (if not immediately) for injuries and TOC will expedite rapid referrals. To help us facilitate these services, student-athletes are charged a one-time fee of $150 each school year
