Eagles win big at home on Silent Night

Box Score
Graceville, FL- Tuesday night, December 2 BUF played a home game against Welch College. Silent Night was the theme, fans wore Christmas sweaters, and others Christmas clothes, and remained silent until the Eagles scored their 10th point of the game. After trailing 2-3 in the first minute of action the Eagles controlled the rest of the game. Jo'el King got a rebound and passed to CJ McKinley, King ran the floor and McKinley rewarded him with a pass, as he went for the lay-up and got fouled. He hit both free throws. As play continued Jordan Issac stole the ball and passed to King who was fouled, splitting the free throws. In the ensuing possession Welch missed a jump shot. Omari Henry grabbed the rebound and showed off his quickness by racing the length of the floor for a layup. Henry then dove on the floor, stole the ball, and passed to King who assisted to a cutting Thomas Curlee for the layup. BUF was on a 7-0 run and Welch called a timeout down 3-9. The BUF crowd was still silent, but they would not have to wait long. Out of the timeout, McKinley broke up a pass that Henry grabbed for the steal and passed back to McKinley, who assisted to a cutting Isaac for the lay-up to put the Eagles up 11-3 giving the crowd the opportunity to erupt.
The Eagles broke the silence, as Coach Hughes had envisioned, with a 9-0 run, up 18-7 following a steal and made jumper by Kalleal Jones. David Pina grabbed a rebound, drove the length of floor, was fouled, and made both free throws to put the Eagles up by 13 points. With about 8 minutes left in the half, McKinley passed to Curlee who made the corner 3, putting the Eagles up 20. At halftime, the lead was 13 points, with the Eagles up 49-36.
In the 2nd half, the Eagles regained a 20-point lead. At the 13:30 mark, with the shot clock winding down, Pina whipped a pass over his shoulder to Issac and he buried a corner 3 beating the shot clock and putting the Eagles up by 15, 67-52. On the next Welch possession, Oliver Patt secured the rebound and assisted up ahead to Isaac for the layup and 17-point advantage. On the next possession Pratt got another rebound and assisted this time to a cutting Pina, who made the layup and was fouled in the process. At the free throw line, he hit the shot to go up 20 points. The next trip down the floor Issac got a rebound and assisted to Jones for the 3-point shot putting the Eagles up 23, an 8-0 run for BUF. With 12:07 left Pratt stole the ball and completed a fast break layup. On the next possession he drew a charge resulting in some of the biggest cheers of the game. Another key moment would be with nearly 6 minutes left in the game, Pina got a steal and then hammered home a fast break dunk firing up the Eagles Nest. With 2 minutes left, Jones got a steal and went on a fast break for a dunk of his own. A big 103-79 win at home for BUF. Isaac finished with 27 points to lead the team and King had 15 points to go with 9 rebounds. Henry was the 3rd leading scorer for the Eagles with 13.
