Graceville, FL – Thursday night the Eagles played for the 2
nd day in a row at home against Trinity College of Florida. The start of set 1 was opposite to the night before. BUF was down 8-10 to begin. Coach Thias Franca called timeout and to follow the Eagles went on a 17-6 run to win the first set 25-16. In set 2 BUF opened with the lead and never trailed. This set was somewhat close though as they were unable to extend the lead by and more than 6 points. However, they never played from behind and won 25-22, going up 2 sets to 0. Set 3, BUF did trail 2-3 but from then on they exploded. After it was 10-6 they ended on a 15-6 run.
Hailey Moody put away the final point and BUF celebrated their first home win! It was a great night in Graceville!
Both Szonja Chabai and
Isabela Acevedo continued their streak as the only players to play every set this season. Acevedo had 11 kills and ended with the highest kill percentage on the team tonight (.303)
Nevaeh Peery continues her great play as the team's setter. She had 31 assists, the most this season in a 3-set match.
Barbara Demarco wore 24 again tonight and had 20 digs, tying her season high in a game but doing it in 3 sets instead of the last time she had 20 digs in 5 sets.
Deliani Cruz also had a nice game, playing all 3 sets and ending with a .235 kill percentage.
BUF will play again on Saturday at 3pm central in Goergia against Middle Georgia State Universtiy.
