Laurel, MS – On Tuesday, February 3rd, the Eagles faced another South Region opponent, the Southeastern Baptist College Chargers. The Eagles fell into an early 3–10 hole, but following a timeout by Coach Hughes, they responded with a 9–0 run to take a 12–10 lead.
Omari Henry and
Jordan Isaac accounted for all 12 points to start the game, with Henry hitting three field goals and Isaac adding a field goal, a free throw, and a 3-pointer.
Oliver Pratt, who Coach Hughes inserted after the timeout, was another who sparked the run with a steal and fast-break layup to extend the lead to four, completing an 11–0 run. Moments later,
Solomon Sutton secured a defensive rebound and threw a long outlet pass to Pratt for another layup, giving the Eagles a 16–10 lead with 10:38 on the clock and capping off 13 unanswered points.
The teams later found themselves tied at 17–17 and separated by 1 point at 25–24, but after a Sutton offensive rebound and put-back, BUF took a 32–28 lead with 2:46 remaining in the half. The Chargers closed the half on a 9–3 run, heading into the locker room with a 37–35 advantage.
The Eagles quickly tied the game to open the second half when Sutton grabbed yet another offensive rebound and scored on a put-back on BUF's first possession. The Chargers responded by taking their largest lead of the game, 45–39, and the teams entered a media timeout at 15:34 with the score unchanged.
Coming out of the break, the Eagles went on an 11–0 run, led by Isaac, who scored six of those points. BUF led 50–45 at the next timeout and continued the surge, extending the run to 19–3 to take a commanding 64–48 lead. Henry knocked down a three-pointer and followed with two free throws to give the Eagles their largest lead of the game at 16 points with 8:53 remaining.
The Chargers cut the lead to eight at 66–58, but Pratt halted the momentum with a three-pointer at the 6:06 mark. SBC attempted another run late, but Henry answered with a floater to maintain a double-digit lead with just over four minutes remaining. With the lead at 10 in the final minute, Henry drove to the basket, drew a foul, and converted both free throws to seal the win. The Eagles defeated the Chargers 84–72.
Jordan Isaac led all scorers with 27 points and added seven rebounds.
Omari Henry finished with 26 points, going 10-for-11 from the free-throw line.
Oliver Pratt contributed 12 points, while
Solomon Sutton recorded a double-double with 10 points and 15 rebounds, including nine on the offensive glass.
