Saturday BUF Softball played Paine College in Augusta, Georgia. On the weekend baseball played home games against the same school.

Game 1
BUF was up to the plate first,
Lacey Goddin was the 2nd batter of the game and she hit a single. She went to 2nd on a ground ball, but there was a throwing error and she rounded the bases, sliding home to take a 1-0 lead.
Harley Daniels started and was the only pitcher in this game as she threw all 7 innings. Paine scored an unearned run to tie it 1-1. In the top of the 5th, the Lady Eagles regained the lead.
Jamie Jackson hit a line drive to center to start it off with a double and she advanced to 3rd on a groundball.
Jacey Nelson laid down a bunt allowing her to go to 1st base and bring in Jackson to score. Paine would score 2 more to win the 1st of 2, but the Lady Eagles were close and now it was only a matter of time.

Game 2
Olivia Spooner was first to bat, and she singled on a line drive to left. Spooner stole 2nd and then 3rd. Goddin walked and now
Janni Murray came to the plate with 2 on and 1 out. Goddin stole 2nd, and now both were in scoring position. Murray hit one to center field bringing in Spooner and Goddin to score and BUF led 2-0. Daniels, who was now playing 1st base, drove in Murray for a 3-run inning. Going up by 3 runs, this was their biggest lead of the regular season, and it had only just started.
In the 2nd Spooner tripled on a fly ball to right and scored on a passed ball. Nelson walked and she advanced to 2nd on a sacrifice bunt. Murray singled to center and Nelson scored. She advanced to 2nd on a passed ball and was drove in after a May Griffin single. The Lady Eagles had scored 3 runs in back-to-back innings, but they would make it back-to-back-to-back as it continued in the 3rd.
Sarah Priester was hit by a pitch to lead off the inning and
Stefanie Donahey came in as a curtesy runner. Donahey advanced to 2nd after a sacrifice bunt and she then stole 3rd base. Spooner was up next and hit a double bringing in Donahey to score. Spooner moved to 3rd on a groundout. With 2 outs Goddin came to bat and singled on a ground ball to center scoring Spooner. Jackson singled to bring in Goddin and BUF led 9-1. This was now the most runs they had scored in any game, including exhibitions.

In the 5th with 2 outs Murray hit a triple and later scored when Jackson hit a double. Jackson was brought in by a Daniels single giving the Eagles 11 runs and for 12 Murray hit a single to brought in Spooner. The Lady Eagles won 12-5 after the great offensive performance!

Murray went a perfect 5-5 on the afternoon, with 4 RBIs and scored 3 runs. Daniels pitched 10 innings total in the 2 games, allowing just 2 earned runs and 0 in Game 2. At the plate she went 3-5 with 2 RBIs and a steal. Spooner was 3-6 (a single, double, and triple; 3 legs of a cycle) with 1 RBI, 4 runs, and 2 steals. Jackson was 2-4 with 2 RBIs and 1 run. As a team the Lady Eagles scored in 5 innings. They had yet to score runs in over 3 innings of a regular season game this season.
