On Saturday, March 21 the Eagles finally got the chance to play against Southeastern Baptist College after 5 cancelled games.
Game 1
SBC jumped out to an early lead, scoring 5 in the top of the 1st inning. To lead off for BUF,
Evan Wallace was walked, then
Quincy McFadden hit a single. With 2 outs, Fredrick De La Rosa drew a walk to load the bases.
Tucker Nix hit a ground ball to short, and the throw was wide, allowing Wallace and McFadden to score. SBC tried to throw to 3rd and get De La Rosa out, but that throw went into the BUF dugout, and the runners got free bases, scoring De La Rosa and putting Nix on 3rd as it was now 3-5. The pitcher then threw a ball past the catcher and Nix scored for a 4-run bottom of the 1st.
In the 2nd neither team scored, but in the top of the 3rd SBC added 5 more runs and led 10-4. In the bottom of the 3rd De La Rosa led off with a single to center field (extending hit hit streak to 8 games). Nix walked; he advanced to 2nd on a wild pitch and to 3rd on a groundout. With 2 outs, trailing by 6,
Taivyn Anderson hit a hard ground ball to left, scoring Nix.
Evan Wallace was walked to load the bases, with Quienten Renfroe and
Torin Clark-Hussey as runners; Clark-Hussey entered as the courtesy runner for Anderson. McFadden was up and he hit one to left, scoring Renfroe and Clark-Hussey to get the Eagles within 3.
In the bottom of the 5th BUF added to their runs.
Korbin Odom led off and reached 1st after an error. Odom advanced to 2nd after a single from Renfroe.
Ashton Bailey came in to run for Renfroe and Odom stole 3rd. Anderson was walked to load the bases and Clark-Hussey was in again to run for him. Wallace singled and Odom scored; McFadden hit a sacrifice fly and Bailey scored. BUF was back to within 1 run at 9-10. With 2 outs
Bryan Calderon walked to again load the bases. De La Rosa was hit by a pitch and Clark-Hussey scored. Nix, who batted next, was walked and Wallace scored. Odom hit a ground ball and SBC made an error, allowing De La Rosa and Calderon to score. Nine unanswered runs by the Eagles, who lead 13-10 now.
SBC scored 2 more, but it was not enough as
Hayden Wright came in to get the save and the Eagles won 13-12.
Austin Emmons, who pitched 1.2 innings in relief, got the win. McFadden went 2-4 at the plate with 3 RBIs and 1 run. De La Rosa went 1-2 with an RBI and scored 2 runs.

Game 2
The Eagles started rough and committed multiple errors, going down 0-9 going into the bottom of the 4th inning.
Eli Albury got the bats going in the inning as he hit a ground ball to right for a single. McFadden was up next and he hit a double, scoring Albury. Clark-Hussey was up next and he was hit by a pitch. McFadden scored on an error and De La Rosa came in to run.
Xavier Taylor singled on a ball hit to left and Clark-Hussey scored.
Connor Ward then hit one to right, scoring De La Rosa, good for 4 runs by BUF in the bottom of the 4th.
In the 5th Albury was up for a 3rd time today after hits in the 2nd and 4th innings, and he again got a hit to go 3-3 on the afternoon. McFadden singled on a ground ball and now runners were on 1st and 2nd.
Bryce Bowers and
Colby Pugh came on to run for them. Clark-Hussey was up and he singled to load the bases, and after a wild pitch Bowers slid into home to score.
In the bottom of the 7th
Nathan Tattrie came in to pinch hit and he drew a walk after 5 pitches. Ward was up with 2 outs, and he was hit by a pitch.
Cooper Watkins connected on the 2nd pitch of his at bat and sent one into center field, allowing Tattrie to head for home and score standing up. After the Eagles went down 0-9 after 4 1/2 innings, they finished the rest of the game with a 6-1 advantage, but it was not enough as they fell 6-10.
