Box Score 2 BUF traveled to Fort Lauderdale to play a 4-game series against the number 4 ranked UFTL Eagles.
Game 1
BUF struggled to get hits and keep pace with UFTL. Only in the 5th inning did the BUF Eagles get multiple hits; singles by both
Tucker Nix and Quentin Renfroe. UFTL won this one 5-0.
Game 2
BUF started much differently in this one.
Ivan Membreno led off with a double on a line drive to right field. The following batter, Quentin McFadden, was walked, and then Fredrick De La Rosa hit one to center that brought in Membreno. It was 1-0 BUF with 0 outs. However, the next 2 batters struck out, and
Connor Ward came up with 2 on and 2 out. Ward hit one to center for a double, and both McFadden and De La Rosa scored. A 3-0 start for the visiting team. UFTL was held scoreless in the bottom of the first but scored 4 over the next 2 innings.
Down 3-4, BUF was at bat in the top of the 4th.
Torin Clark-Hussey reached on a single, and then
Korbin Odom came in as a courtesy runner. After a fielder's choice, he stole 2nd with 2 outs. He then advanced to 3rd on a wild pitch and scored after a single from Membreno. The BUF offense picked up in this one and some players had multi-hit days, but UFTL would end the game by scoring 5 unanswered runs. Membreno and De La Rosa were each 2-4 with 1 RBI, 1 run, and 1 steal. Clark-Hussey was 2-2 on the day as well. Despite losing by 5 BUF had more hits on the afternoon (10) than UFTL (8).
