Historic 1st Season for BUF Basketball

The BUF Eagles, led by Head Coach Nathaniel Hughes, completed the program's first season of basketball with double-digit wins and some impressive statistical numbers.

Jordan Isaac led the team in total scoring with 516 points and points per game with 19. His total is good for 2nd in NCCAA DII factoring in postseason play. Isaac also hit 130 free throws, which is also 2nd in the division, and finished the season with a free throw percentage of 79%. He shot 46% from the field and 35% from 3-point range, making 40 3's, which ties him for the team high. In the year 2026 alone he scored 308 points, averaging 24 a game. In addition to his scoring numbers, he led the team in total assists. He also only missed 1 game all season, playing in 27 of the 28, the 3rd most games played on the team. On February 7, against one team who made the regional final, he had a triple-double, tying a team high with 15 rebounds and setting a team high with 11 assists. Two days later in Greenville, SC, against the other team in the regional final and eventual champions, he had 43 points, tied for 2nd most in the division this season, with 8 made 3-pointers, also a team high. In the Regional Tournament he averaged 31 points and 8 rebounds. It was a prolific freshman season for Isaac, who earned 1st Team All-Region honors, as well as All-Freshman Team and South Region Freshman of the Year.

Omari Henry is another who received South Region honors, making 2nd Team All-Region and the All-Freshman Team. For the season Henry ended with 493 points, a total good for 4th in the division. Henry averaged 18 points per game, making 117 free throws and shooting 84% at the line. Henry also shot 48% from the field. He made 40 3's and shot a team-high percentage of 42% from deep (factoring in attempts). On defense Henry led the team in steals with 54, including 6 in a game on January 9, a team high. He was 1 of only 2 players to play every game, and he ended with the most games started among his teammates. Also, in the Regional Tournament he averaged 25 points, and in the round 1 victory he had 31 points, which was his season high.

Solomon Sutton was the 3rd Eagle named to the All-Freshman Team. Sutton was the team's leading rebounder. For the season he had 157 rebounds, averaging 8 a game, and after the game on January 29 he had 82 rebounds, averaging 9 a game, stepping up when the team needed him. He also ended the season with 186 points. In the Regional Tournament Sutton had double-digit rebounds in both games.

KJ Johnson was another Eagle who stepped up for the team. When he was plugged into the starting lineup on January 29 he averaged 14 points for the final 9 games, scoring 124 points. During that time, he also shot 45% from the field and 37% from 3-point range.

Oliver Pratt led the team in scoring off the bench. He also was 1 of the 2 to have played in every game. For the season he scored 154 points, which is 6th most on the team. Pratt also was 2nd on the team in total assists.

CJ McKinley suffered an injury in the last game of December that ended his season, but before that he had played in every game and was putting up some impressive numbers. McKinley led the team in free throw percentage at 88% and 3-point percentage at 48%. For the month of December, for which he won Student Athlete of the Month, he shot 60% from 3. At the time he went down he was also leading the team in both total assists and assists per game, and he still ended the season 4th in total assists. On October 31 he scored 22 points in a game, which was his season high, and on December 5 he had 21. McKinley also had a game with 8 assists on November 8, good for 2nd most on team this season.
